That’s Garbage

The average household produces 834 kg of garbage. By any measure that’s a lot of garbage. Almost everything can be recycled – even video’s.

Here’s a few ways you can make a difference.

The City of Vancouver offers these tips.

  • check to see if it can be reconditioned
  • consider sharing an item, one lawn mower instead of three
  • as opposed to new, check and see if you can buy a second hand version
  • don’t buy stuff that is over packaged
  • don’t buy disposable items
  • find out where items can be recycled – batteries, electronic equipment
  • take your own bags when you go shopping. Canadians take home 55 million plastic bags every week.
