The Shine is Off – RBC

RBC’S report for May 2008 is in.

The Highlights

  • Housing market froth finally evaporating
  • Tide turns in 2008
  • No U.S. style correction
  • More conservative lending practices
  • Labour markets are tight
  • Inventory overhang manageable
  • Some markets more vulnerable than others
  • Bottom line — Sellers to lose some bargaining power
  • Courtesy RBC

RBC’s report is less “bullish” than CMHC’s recent report. RBC is the first to suggest that the market is changing with the prediction that seller’s may lose some pricing ground.
