How Exciting
It’s just so exciting when you get to buy your first home. This is a huge accomplishment in Vancouver Real Estate. You have made other offers only to be trumped by others. Not an uncommon side bar to our market place. Frustrated, angry and forlorn you wonder if you will find another home that matches the good ones that got away? Through good fortune and having a diligent RealtorĀ® on your side, you find another place that is as good or better. Best of all, no one else is in the game. You are the first to view the property, you are the first to make an offer and it is clear sailing for you get this one for no one else is ahead of you.
But!
A previous commitment means you have to travel to a family event. No problem we have the tools. You assure that you understand the importance of staying connected promising to keep your cell phone on. But it’s not on. You don’t answer, you don’t stay connected. You have vanished!
Ticking Clock
You know that all offers are time sensitive. You have read the specific clause where it says that “time is of the essence”. Hoping to salvage your opportunity, your Realtor explains and arranges for the Seller to extend the first deadline. But, still you don’t return calls. Yet again, your RealtorĀ® gets the deadline extended. Using the tools, you are advised of this second extension by text message, voice message and email. Still no response. Ticking the passing time the clock sounds the alarm. Times up! It’s over! The Seller will not extend the time for your response further. With the sound of the alarm bell you have by default, lost the opportunity to buy your first home as the seller is now free to consider another offer.
Why Don’t You Answer
All the tools were used. Your RealtorĀ® is at a loss to understand the disconnect. Do you?
Without doubt, frustration and anger will prevail as before?
Sorry! You should have called!

Sounds like cold feet lead to the cold shoulder… I had a client who went away, thought they would have the tools… and most assuredly, they did not. Nope, they were out at some massive dude ranch playing cowboy. The only contact number lead to a satellite phone with which a message was taken and delivered some two days later. Now that is how some really get away from it all. I should have tried smoke signals
@ Will
Your experience seems more obscure.
Life in the big smoke is about all this one will add up to.
There once was a radio station. A boy wins a prize . The radio people want to give him the great news “on the air” . They try to call him but all they get is a”busy” signal The radio announcer doesn’t get angry or frustrated. Instead, he calls a pizza place in the area and delivers a free pizza with a message for the boy to answer his phone. The boy gets the news on the air, radio program gets awesome ratings and pizza place gets free advertising! Everyone is a winner! It is not about the tools. It is about thinking outside of the tool box.
@ Mila
Mobile phones are just that. The Pizza guy would have troubles locating the moving target.
