British Columbia Real Estate – Anybody Home?

Cameron Muir in his August 15/08 British Columbia Real Estate Association report, uses the word S W O L L E N to describe the current condition of B.C.’s real estate. Those of us who are discrete might use the same word to describe the Fat Lady.

The ‘Skinny’ on July/08

  • dollar volume down 38%
  • unit sales down 37%
  • average price down 0.5%

Year To Year CHANGE

  • dollar volume down 18%
  • unit sales down 24%
  • price up 8.2%

Olympic Sized CHANGE

In July the number of homes for sale in B.C. increased 63% from last year!

Can This Mean

      1. that projected sales for Olympic tickets will be way down?
      2. that nobody will be left in the province to hear the chubby girl sing?

Super Natural

In the past it was a catch phrase used to describe all the wonders our province has to offer. New to the list of greatness, is a feeling that half of the province is for sale. Who among us will be here to volunteer for the Olympics?
