Another Day in Paradise
It’s another great Sunday to go to the Kitsilano Farmer’s market and load up on the last of the seasons cherries and the just-fresh corn. I’m a big corn on the cob person. Is there anything that brings the summer season more into perspective than a cob of super fresh corn with butter?
I had just finished paying for my corn. It was during the process of stuffing those golden pleasures into my back-pack, zipping it up and making ready to sling it over my shoulder when suddenly it happened.
What Was That?
Faster than you can pull silk off the husk my day changed with a tap on the shoulder soon followed by this question.
“Are you Larry?”
Thinking this can’t be my turn on the big bus to the sky I took a look into the lens of the camera. Finding the confirming reflection, I responded -
“Yep, that be me!”
When You Stand on a Freeway You’ll Get Noticed
It’s not often that I get strangers tapping me on the shoulder knowing who I am. How is it that they know me and I haven’t got a clue who they are? I then realized I was surviving another senior’s moment. I forgot that I was wearing my YatterMatters billboard shirt. Note to self: advertising does work.
It’s Erik
“I recognized you from your shirt’s logo. I’m Erik, you know, from Kitsilano.ca.”
“Erik, of course!”
“Wow!”
“What a pleasure to meet you!”
Kitsilano.ca
I’ve followed Erik and Rob over at Kitsilano.ca , Kitsilano’s very own blog, for months. These two guys work their butts and finger tips off to deliver in depth information about the goings on in Kitsilano. Want to know the latest, drop by their site. Good reviews and good thoughts about our great community. If there’s something going on or about to happen, they know about it!
Oh, and before I have another moment, they are real nice folks too!
Cutie Patootie
About that shy little cutie in the video. You guessed it! That’s Erik’s boy wonder.
