Assessments
Attrib Jones “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” – Dr. Seuss
Grinch Gordo has really stolen Christmas this year. Don’t think for a moment that you are getting a break with the government announcement that property tax assessments will be frozen at 2007 levels and that you can defer your assessment for 2 years.
These yearly comparisons should give you a clue that not all things are good in Whoville.
When you get your tax bill study it carefully. Can’t make sense of the form? Need comparable properties, call your Realtor®.
Compare your property values to the neighborhood market as of July 1 2008. Be prepared to defend your right to a re-assessment as required with the British Columbia Assessment Authority.
