Buckets
You probably saw the weather report and yes they told you that Kitsilano experienced 51 MM of rain in a couple of hours. What they didn’t share with you was the experience of standing in cold dirty buckets of water as SUV’s with wipers full on, splashed by in oblivion.
Crazy Wet

The reality of the walk to lunch at the Kits Whitespot on Broadway was crazy wet. On the way the accumulated rain had turned half a street into a lake that was storming over the curb as it flowed onto lawns and probably into some homes. Expected next, is a flood of restoration, drainage and roofing company vehicles.
Clean Up
What might have pre-empted some of the outfall would be a little social responsibility to check the street drains to ensure that they are not restricted by the tonnes of leaves dropped during the wind storm just days before.
Boots
A hat tip to the city workers who in those huge vacuum trucks turn up in the worst of weather to save the day. Although, a little hint is in order. Noticing that a number of the workers were caught short wearing leather work boots, it might be prudent to consider future weather events and pack some made of rubber.
