Tilting Sun

Vancouver Sun Building [640x480]

Sinking Sun

The Vancouver Sun is our largest local news paper. Suspect is that with the outbreak of social media, they too are suffering the fate of many news organizations around the world.

New Angle

It might have been the angle of the shot taken or it’s just that the foundations of big newspaper business have found their footings are not as solid as in the past.

Search for your home here. It’s lot easier than other places I can’t mention and you can see the home via Google street view. . Use Walkability to determine the availability of those neighbourhood services most important to you. Don’t be shy, tell your friends who are looking to stop by and give it a whirl. They will love you even more. :)

If you would like something more personal that is specific to your budget and needs, give me a shout. Let’s talk and I’ll set you up with a custom search delivered daily to your in box.

Of course, if you got some questions I’m around for that too.

Thinking of Buying or Selling your Vancouver home? Put on a cup of coffee and let’s talk.

Do you know anything about the Vancouver Sun that we don’t? RE is getting 2 supplements every weekend.

Luc,
Other than the sign on the building and anecdotal comments made by readers I have no insight to address your question. Theory might suggest that somebody is paying for the print space.

Stopped subscribing to it and the Province a long time ago. Now if only someone would invent the sound of crinkling paper to emulate the flip of the page on the web, life would be complete. :)

We recently moved to Vancouver and cannot bring ourselves to subscribe to either rag. To much non-news dominating both. Entire sections written by ad men.

The wife and I still enjoy crinkling newpapers in the morning. Any suggestions?

Simon,

Pick your poison.
Try online versions of the papers locally and from around the world. You will be able to select the specific topic catagories.
The Globe and Mail, BBC News, CBC, New York Times, Canada News amongst many others have RSS feeds.

As for the crinkly paper sound – a cheeky solution would be to put your feet into some paper bags and play ‘footsy’ with your lady while you read. :)
