Just A Tick

A New Year Begins

The first look at a clock in the new year is always fun. The plans, the hopes, the wishes, the commitment to make this year better than last starts with the first tick.
In keeping, it was time to start the New Year with a new service. You may already have noticed a different navigation tab at the top labeled Homes For Sale.
Fresh Start
Starting today you will be able to search all residential MLS® listings on the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board, The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and the Chilliwack Real Estate Board.
There are over 15,000 listings available for your consideration with approximately 150,000 pictures. Is there a home in that group that fits your needs and budget? Now you can come to where Yatter Matters and find it.
What is not included are the Sales. It is unfortunate for those who wish to see what homes have sold for but, for some reason not quite clear to me at this time they are not available. It’s as well, for few servers such as the one that hosts this blog are prepared to carry the volume of data this would entail. If you are interested in a particular property, you can always email me the property’s MLS® number or address and I’d be happy to forward that information as it and time become available.
No Charge of Course
In the event you find the manual daily check for new listings becoming a burden I can help with that too. Let’s meet for coffee and talk about it. I’d be happy to organize a predefined search from which results are sent direct to you. If it fits the parameters you have outlined you will get it – almost instantly. Use the contact form if you are interested in this service – no charge of course.
In the interim, please make use of Homes For Sale. Finding your new home is just a tick away.
Thinking of Buying or Selling your Vancouver home? Put on a cup of coffee and let’s talk.

In regard to the listings – it seems not as extensive as VOW because you can’t specify the sub-area and the results are less detailed.
Luc,
the sub-areas are referred to as Communities. With respect to the data it is agreed that it is minimalist – the point is to provide an overview as opposed to burdening you with overwhelming data when it is of no interest.
I am familiar with VOW’s and their function. I am a more hands on REALTOR who prefers meeting people F2F, a new concept in social media
, so that dialogue in regard to their life style, housing and financing needs can be established. VOW’s have their place if the objective of both parties is to remain anonymous. Being anonymous is not how I roll.
From this perspective Buying and Selling real estate is in my opinion not an “Amazon” online affair. It might be an old fashioned concept but, I as I’m sure do you, like to know who I’m doing business with. To that end, more complete information on listings can be made available for your consideration should we both decide that we want to do business with each other.
The contact form is there waiting. Let me know when you are ready to have that coffee.
“To that end, more complete information on listings can be made available for your consideration should we both decide that we want to do business with each other.”
Would that be the MLS listing the general public does not have access to, that the Realtors keep for themselves at first?
Hopefully that practice has ended.
Chris,
And around the circle we go again -
Yes Chris, from your perspective, it is the information you feel entitled to. Yes Chris, that information is available via a VOW. No Chris, it’s not provided via this data feed. The question Chris is why would you ask for a bag of groceries when all you wanted was a banana?
Larry
We should meet, once things fall into balance.
Any sense of market strength as we go into the new year?
Fishtaco
would be a pleasure –
downtown is seemingly reticent to list with the approach of the olympics.
City Vanoc rules for moving in and out during the games only allow trucks downtown between midnight and early morning. City parking rules :
“Deliveries
While local businesses will be able to make and receive deliveries in downtown Vancouver 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we strongly encourage flexibility in timing your deliveries. In order to avoid congestion and traffic, the City recommends that all deliveries be planned between 12 midnight and 6 am. If you are unable to make or receive deliveries before 6 am, the next preferred delivery window is before noon. ”
Tough to move in or out at 2 am.
Junior Hockey Tweetup with Realtors suggest it will bust open after the games.
Sense of Market:- Todays System hot sheet showed 238 new listings 90 solds. Answer – Nobody has shut off the gas – Still cookin!
Chris,
You have tested my patience with your unending rants about the availability of MLS data. Since responses given don’t satisfy you it is time to go nag somewhere else.
