CBC Vancouver News – WilMar Estate

CBC

Kirk Williams a producer and reporter with the CBC called today. He wondered if it would be possible to do a CBC news report about the WilMar Estate at 2050 SW Marine Drive in Vancouver.

Angles

Every reporter has an angle to a story they want to tell. Like the many people who have visited this home during public open house, Mr. Williams wished to explore the home’s history and the lives that were lived in this home for the past 86 years.

Interviews

As a Vancouver Realtor® we are always interviewed by Vancouver home sellers and buyers. Interviews with main stream television and magazine media are different – I get stage fright.

When and Where

You can watch my stage fright in Mr. Williams’s story that features glimpses of the WilMar Estate’s Tudor Revival home in original 1925 condition tomorrow on CBC Vancouver at 5 pm.

Search for your home here. It’s lot easier than other places I can’t mention and you can see the home via Google street view. . Use Walkability to determine the availability of those neighbourhood services most important to you. Don’t be shy, tell your friends who are looking to stop by and give it a whirl. They will love you even more. :)

If you would like something more personal that is specific to your budget and needs, give me a shout. Let’s talk and I’ll set you up with a custom search delivered daily to your in box.

Of course, if you got some questions I’m around for that too.

Thinking of Buying or Selling your Vancouver home? Put on a cup of coffee and let’s talk.

That was a good piece, nice to see a real estate story about history for a change rather than just greed, rising prices, helicopters and Chinese buyers like 99% of the trash we usually see.

Shame it has to be demolished though, the fact that it would take $5 million to bring it up to code is another shining example of how everything in Vancouver is ridiculously overpriced.

I see you demolished your mustache in solidarity with the house, good for you.

@meth
that’s for my kids who have never seen me without one. After 40 years I had to learn how to shave the upper. It was brutal! Bandaids please :)

Wow you look a lot younger on the telly than you do on the web site.

Larry,

Would u be able to find out sale prices for brand new condo/th units sold by the developers? Units that were never listed on the MLS.

Thx

@bubbles
That is somewhat difficult to accomplish prior to the entire building being sold – think cards close to chest. They might give you a hint if you were on site.

I was just wondering what a couple of these condos went for originally.

1401-1185 The High St Coquitlam
1701-1185 The High St

If you can’t disclose that info, can you tell me at least if that’s possible for realtors to even see that price?

Thx

February 15th, 2012 at 6:48 pm

@bubbles

1701 is for sale. 1706 was sold last june for $457k
1401 was for sale for a year with a price drop then cancelled
as suspected no original purchase price – you’ll need to visit land titles for that. take your visa card with you.

BTW. In future email me stuff like this. it really doesn’t belong on blog comments.

Has someone Wilmar been photo documented in detail? If not, would it be possible to do so?
