Saving a Down Payment

Bad Days

It takes a lot of coin to save up for a down payment towards the purchase of a Vancouver home. Though it can be rewarding there are times when it is frustrating. Today while out for a walk about I watched this lady experience both.

Spare Change

With the upcoming demise of our penny, people are actively redeeming their spare change. Few will take the time required to diligently roll their coin before making a deposit to their savings account.

At some branches of the Royal Bank you can simply dump all your change into a machine that counts it for you. However, using that machine will cost you 10% of the total sum. Not cheap but it is expedient or is it?

Strong Bags

Coin weighs a lot and so you need to ensure that you have very strong bag in which to carry your money. Seen here was someone who thought plastic bags would do the job. Based on the evidence this was not the case.
