Vancouver’s Median Price Knocks on Heaven’s Door

Fifty Fifty

A safe bet says that fifty percent of the time you can be right. Measuring the pulse of Vancouver’s Real Estate market place can however, be daunting especially when half of the city’s community’s values dropped when the other half increased.

All Time Records

Vancouver is a city of records. As noted in my monthly Average Price post, the Average Price set a new record at $1,276,073 for a detached home. Equally the Median Price for a detached home in Vancouver’s West side also set an all time record reaching the lofty value of $2,468,000 in December 2013.

Looking back in time the Median Price of a Detached Vancouver home in December of 2000 was $520,000.

Which door is the right one?

You always wonder if prices can go higher? It is certain that this question was asked in the year 2000 and each year thereafter. While ups and downs have occurred in other communities Vancouver West seems resilient and in 2014 the question persists.

Which door do you choose?
