Kerrisdale Detached Homes Steam Along


Today it is primarily a residential neighbourhood with streets lined with large trees. In its beginning, Kerrisdale started out as a train stop on Vancouver’s Inter Urban line.

Steaming Into Town

The trains and the train stop have long disappeared. Yet Kerrisdale’s evolution continues as stately homes are built on what was once a forest.

In 1977 the Royal Hudson steamed into Kerrisdale. H.E. Addington photographed it’s visit. Change is inevitable and even without the trains the Kerrisdale detached real estate market is a whistle blower.
