Active Listings On Steady Pace

A Little Behind

The small sample size derived from specific neighbourhood numbers are wonderful if you like spinning up the real estate rhetoric. When considering Active Listings as a factor in market state a less discreet view may be desired by choosing to reflect on the overall numbers from a larger market base. Such is the case here where the numbers considered reflect the Active Listing count for the entire lower mainland or more specifically, the areas from Pemberton to Hope.

According to the Internet Data Exchange (IDX), the total number of active listings for the lower mainland does not at this point in time appear to be record setting. That crown seems now to be a far distant number achieved in 2012 when Active Listing hit an all time high of 28,088 in June.

Today and Before

Last year Total Listings recorded via the IDX on this date had reached 25,947 units. This year that number has lagged behind with a total of 24,506 units.
