Vancouver garners many accolades for its natural surroundings and beauty. Those who live here seem to be in love with this place and while it might be stretching the point, if you listen to this tune you might think a Vancouver zealot had written the lyrics.

Median Prices

For a number of years Median prices in Vancouver appear to be attached to that balloon as it rises ‘Up Up and Away’ from most people’s ability to purchase a home. It has made the idea of of affordable housing contentious. As such, while world of Vancouver might look like ‘a nicer place from our beautiful balloon’ the reality for many people who want to buy a home very different.

Unfortunately, the ever deflating Canadian Dollar turns this ‘Balloon’ into more of a Whoopee Cushion.

Did you use the balloon as a metaphor intentionally? IE “hot air” keeping it aloft and less controls than say an airplane? How about when hot air running out the balloon returning to earth, sometimes rapidly and with a rough landing?
