Play Puddles – A Christmas Gift

In a previous post “Talk To The Trees“, I commented on how certain people at city hall messed up their engineering when planning the new sidewalks on Broadway. As predicted, the volume of traffic and street dirt plus residual falling leaves have completely overwhelmed the small drainage boxes. They are full and the water has no where to go except into boots and shoes of passers-by.
Each drain-box is now completely plugged. The puddles that form in the depressions designed to hold the drain boxes and capture the run-off from the sidewalks are overwhelming and impassible. So much so, that people loaded with Christmas shopping are dodging each other to get around them. What a mess!
As a casual observer of civic oversights, I give it 6 months. This should be enough time for the complaints to flow to counsel chambers. In the interim there will be many people slopping around destroying their foot ware.
Perhaps city hall’s Puddle Committee thought these a fine Christmas Gift.
