What Is A Promise?

It is “a declaration that something will or will not be done.” The cornerstone is the word will. When buying or selling Vancouver Real Estate the implications and power of this word must be clearly understood.

Written Promises

Entering into a Contract of Purchase and Sale is a written promise. It is declaration made between the Buyer and the Seller to each other. The agreement itself, is significant legally, for it is the recording of the promise(s) being made by the parties to each other.

Understanding

Realtor(s)® are charged to accurately record within the agreement, the promises made. Often, a more significant challenge for the Realtor® is to ensure that the parties clearly understand the implications of their promises.

Small Word - Powerful Implications

I will, is your commitment - your promise to perform pre-determined actions. That small word is very powerful. Stating that you will do something is exact and does not allow alternatives. Once all promises are accepted by both parties, unilaterally altering a promise is a decision that guaranties unpleasant consequence and a certainty of potential financial hardship.
