It’s going to be a Blue Christmas for many Vancouver Realtors this year.

Anticipated, is a reconsideration of a short “boom” career in Vancouver Real Estate.

Mantra

An old saying in the industry is that 80% of the sales are made by 20% of Active Realtors.

Sales Volumes

They are the indicator of how many pay checks will be given out to Realtors. November’s numbers suggest that for many Vancouver Realtors the Turkey on the table may be the size of a young Squab.

• Detached Down – 70%
• Attached Down – 73%
• Apartments Down – 67%

Brutally True

Stuck in my brain all these years is a comment by a senior broker made during the last down cycle who said; “Everyone is entitled to come into Real Estate and go broke.”

Hearing this, the first thought was – how brutal. Retrospectively, it is a truism.
