Vancouver Homes - They Were Your Retirement Plan

Where Do You Sit

This chair was abandoned in a lane near where I live. It cried out with sorrow for in it’s day it had given much comfort and joy.
Retirement
Reflecting on the global financial crisis, the chair reminded me of the far reaching implications the crisis will have on our retirement plans.
Hopes and Dreams
The retirement plans of many people include the accumulated value of their Vancouver homes. They hoped and looked forward to selling their most important investment at the right time. Their wish, to enjoy the benefit that investment would provide by ensuring they would have a comfortable chair in which to sit.
The current and foreseeable market has evaporated a large portion of that anticipated wealth. It may never be recovered and a number of people will retire with chairs similar to the one in the picture.
