Vancouver Real Estate - Changes

Doors Once Shut, Open
The video is about disappearing boundaries. It shows us that the barriers which denied us access to knowledge are vanishing by the second and that with each falling fence our ability to acquire that which we seek has become easier.
Changes
The speed at which these walls have crumbled is amazing. Within the real estate industry these changes have altered the dynamic by which Realtors® conduct their business. The razor wire that once protected MLS® is no longer.
Tools
MLS information is readily available and distributed freely. Barrier breakers like Google and Yahoo are now backbones that carry videos, pod casts, text messaging, twitter, and blogging. These tools are are the medium through which we engage and enter discourse, share opinion and serve the distribution of knowledge.Dark Corners
Amongst Realtors® exist those who still see themselves as gatekeepers of MLS®, but the video’s message is clear. The real estate practitioner’s landscape has changed. Little room remains for adversarial positions. Realtors® who are early adopters now blog to deliver opinion, fact, interpretation and professional experiences. The goal, to assist and enlighten. To share accumulated knowledge directed toward helping the real estate consumer. Statistically, it is ironic that few have accepted the challenge before them. They continue to hide from the risk of public scrutiny and contend with self inflicted boundaries in the darkest corners of the profession.
